Surf Photographer And Videographer In Lagos, Algarve Full Time

We’re seeking a Professional Photographer/Videographer to join our surf school team and provide high-quality surf photography and videography services for our students.

This is a rare opportunity for those of you wanting to boost your career in the surf industry. After a positive and successful 2021 season that saw us add this position to our surf school team, we’ve now made this one of our most important postings when it comes to improving the overall experience of our guests.

The ideal candidate for this position is talented and creative with a knack for surf-related visual art. Your roles will include helping our surf coaching team with surf video coaching, capturing and editing clips of our students while surfing/surf skating plus taking videos and pictures of our guests during their stay at our surf lodge. In addition, you also need an understanding of how a surf business operates in order to enhance the company in the online marketplace.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

• Background in photo and video education
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom (or similar)
• Experience in social media management
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English
• Full driver’s license for driving in Europe

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EQUIPMENT

• Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in photography is desirable
• Background in business and marketing or a hospitality and hotel management degree is preferable
• Own photo and video equipment with a minimum of one lens able to capture long-distance action (minimum 300mm or longer)
• Laptop to manage photography and video files
• Water housing and drone are a plus
• Additional language/s a plus (Dutch, German or Spanish preferable)
• Basic knowledge of Portuguese is helpful but not essential

DATE OF EMPLOYMENT

The position is open from the end of February until the end of November.
