For the upcoming Season Nov – May, El Ranchito surfcamp is recruiting a full-time Staff Manager, based in a remote beach in Guanico, Panama.
About Us
We are a small and relaxed surf camp that has a focus on providing our guests personal and familiar experiences. Providing each guests their privacy we have several private small cabins that can fit up to 18 people. We offer accommodation, surf lessons, surf guiding, surf rentals and surf trips. Simultaneously we also run a surf cafe at the beach front that offer breakfast, lunch, drinks and sweets.
Location
El Ranchito Surf Camp is located at the most southern point in Panama, Guanico. It is a small remote village with a great local community. Our surf camp is little hidden within the nature and surrounded by jungle noises. The main beach, Playa Guanico, can be reach within 5 min by car. There it offer several beach breaks and one point break. We have a consistency of 95% which we can guarantee your daily surf in Guanico.
Overview
As surf camp manager you welcomes an average 12 guests per week and supervise a team of 6-8. Your focus will be supervise all the staff members across all divisions in housekeeping, maintenance, customer service in order to create a consistently operational camp. At the same time it is your responsibility to uphold each guest’s satisfaction and to improve guests’ experiences.
Duties
Oversee all aspects of the surf camp operation: reception, breakfast preparation, shopping for camp supplies, housekeeping, guest transfers, and entertainment.
Recruiting new staff member (ad, email, interview etc.)
Train and supervise staff members
Schedule and delegate tasks to staff members to ensure smooth camp operations.
Monitor staff’s performance and provide feedback.
Monitor the staffs house if they comply with the house rules.
Adapt to unforeseen circumstances, coming up with solutions and jumping in where needed.
Maintain staff morale and organizing staff events to boost spirits (if needed)
Socialize with guests to improve their customer satisfaction levels and address any concerns before they develop into complaints
Manage complaints politely and report to the owners for support
Requirement
prior experiences in the hospitality, Business Administration, Management or relevant field
Outstanding leadership skills and great attention to detail
Understanding of all hotel management best practices
Excellent customer service skills as well as a business mindset
independent decision-making and problem-solving attitude
Comfortable working in fast-paced environments.
Highly proficient in spoken and written English
Full driver’s license for driving in Europe
Minimum age: 25
Excellent computer skills with experience using Google Drive and Excel/Spreadsheets/Numbers
You must own your own personal computer (PC or MAC)
