The Retail Sales Associates at Ride The Wind Surf Shop are responsible for everything that happens at our retail location. They are customer service representatives, merchandisers, stock clerks, cash register operators, janitorial staff, and on many occasions tourist information representatives.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
You must be customer service driven! This means you will continually go above and beyond the call of duty to help our customers. You should be friendly, courteous, and kind(just like the scouts!). First time customers should leave our shop knowing they have made new friends on Ocracoke.
Personal appearance should be neat and clean at all times. When possible clothing and lifestyles reflected by our shop should be reflected in your appearance. We are selling among other things surf life style apparel. Therefore clothing styles that are anti-apparel or anti-surf lifestyle are not appropriate.
Knowledge of our products is a must. You must know the basic product features of the products we sell and be able to differentiate between product choices. While product training will be provided, the employee should take the initiative to learn more about our products.
All Ride The Wind Surf Shop team members must be able to operate autonomously to be successful in their position. This means you must take the initiative to constantly work to improve the performance of the shop.
JOB DUTIES:
Job duties of sales associates include but are not limited to the following: Assisting customers, operating the cash register, arranging/straightening/cleaning merchandise, checking in merchandise, cleaning the shop(retail areas, offices, bathroom, grounds), selling other Ride The Wind Surf Shop services(rentals & tours).
