Volunteer In Hostel & Surfcamp – Algarve, Portugal Volunteer

Our hostel is one of the biggest in the Algarve, and we have the most amazing staff, so we would love to add you to our young and fun team. We encourage you to enjoy your time here with us, but also take your time to relax, or explore the beautiful surroundings.

We are looking for openminded, self-driven, structured and flexible persons, that likes to be a part of a team.

DURATION: 

We are looking for volunteers for the year of 2024/2025, with a minimum 4 week stay. We are open all year round.

POSITIONS:

Housekeeping collaborator

You will help where it is needed & it will be an advantage if you have some prior experience from the hospitality, restaurant, housekeeping or bar industry. This position will include a weekly shifts of different tasks in the breakfast shift, dinner shift, evening shift and help and clean facilities

Photographer/Film maker collaborator

We are looking for an active and extrovert person who can help us improve our content in social media (TikTok, Instagram etc) and website. For this position we prefer some with previous experience in working in the area. It is necessary to bring your own equipment: Camera + Sound + Drone (it’s a plus). In terms of deliverables we expect: edited images + 60-90 seconds videos + 2-3 minutes films

Social Media collaborator

We are looking for an active and extrovert person who can make content for our social media platforms, which currently will include producing/editing videos/reels/stories, as well as taking/editing photos of our hostel’s activities. We are very open to ideas and keen to welcome a creative and entrepreneurial volunteer. The candidate must have social media channels of their own. For this position we prefer some previous experience working with social media, graphic design, filming + bring own equipment.

Web Design/Graphic Design/Digital Marketing collaborator

We’re looking for someone who can help us to improve our website and other tasks. Most of the time you will work independently so we are looking for self-driven and responsible persons. In this role you will spend a lot of time in our office & you need to be creative as we always appreciate new ideas. IT knowledge, digital marketing, graphics design skills required.

OUR OFFER:

The hostel has top new facilities including a swimming pool, out-door gym facilities, common spaces, co-work space, bar & restaurant, and separate accommodation only for volunteers. Beaches are only 15 minutes walk away.

Volunteers have a 6 days a week, maximum 20-25hrs per week with 1 full day off and in return we offer:

Free accommodation in shared staff House
Free use of 3x soft top surfboards
Free loan of wetsuit (just pay 50€ in deposit)
Free breakfast, when on breakfast shift
Free Dinner, when on restaurant shift
Free yoga classes, when classes not full
120€ per month to cover small expenses – Only paid after 4 weeks work is completed.  In case you leave before min. 4 week agreement ends, you will not quality for payment.

We expect all our staff/volunteers to be flexible, and openminded for the tasks given. Also clean up after yourself, be responsible, contribute with a positive mindset, and respect the other volunteers. As long as you are hard working always doing your best, we will be happy to welcome you in our team.

You will be introduced for general rules/procedures after arrival, before you start working.  The management can at any time cancel the agreement, if volunteer do not meet the expectations/house rules without any notice.
