Spa Manager Full Time

We are looking for a Spa Therapist & Manager to head up our spa program in our brand new oceanfront spa at Sansara Surf & Yoga Resort. Located on the Pacific Coast of Panamá, Sansara is a 5-star barefoot luxury resort where we believe in the importance of taking care of mind and body for a complete wellness experience. Our Spa features two oceanfront treatment rooms, luxury soaker tub, and the ability to offer up to three services simultaneously. We are seeking an experienced therapist to head up our spa program as lead therapist, and spa manager. The right individual should have at least 3+ years of licensed massage therapy experience in a spa or hotel setting and some spa management experience.

Reporting to: General Manager

I. Work Environment
a. Sansara’s Spa is a stunning oceanfront sanctuary for relaxation and optimal
wellbeing, located on property, with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean.
b. We work with professionally accredited therapists to offer a wide-range of holistic
treatments including but not limited to; deep tissue massage, relaxation massage, facial/body work, and aromatherapy to our guests and community. We feel strongly about
customized body treatments that blossom from truly listening to and understanding our
guests’ needs. As such most often find success in combination therapy sessions.
c. The spa program complements perfectly our guest’s needs, desires or intentions for
their stay; whether they are looking for a little self-love indulgence and relaxation,
targeting sore muscles after an active day in the Yoga Shala or the waves, or working
through a longer-term injury or rehabilitation.
d. Sansara Resort operates as a retreat center, whereby guests join us for six-nights from
Sunday to Saturday. During retreats we introduce our spa program and therapists to
participants on the first evening, to allow them the full week to sign-up and enjoy our
offerings.
e. When we are not booked with a full retreat, guests will arrive/depart throughout the
week and arrange spa treatments a la carte through our reception either before or
during their stay.
f. When Sansara is not fully booked with an exclusive retreat we offer Spa services to outside guests staying in Cambutal.

II. Job Description
a. Deliver effective body treatments according to guests’ specific needs and wants in a
safe, comfortable and relaxing setting.
b. Confer with clients prior to their treatment to about their medical history and problems
with stress or pain, having them complete in full Sansara’s medical waiver. Prompt, listen and respond to queues from clients to ensure the treatment is catered to
their needs and administered in the most safe and effective form.
d. Working with reception and retreat manager to coordinate available
massage appointment times prior to retreats, allowing maximum time slots available for
booking. Offering some flexibility throughout the week to adjust or add times based on
demand and/or retreat itinerary changes.
e. Responsible for the maintenance and general tidiness of the Spa and
surrounding area to ensure the meeting of guests’ expectation of premium, luxury spa
service.
f. Responsible for ordering and maintaining an adequate supply of spa products, oils, soaps, on stock of all times.
g. Communicating with spa team, reception and management of changes, client and/or therapist feedback, incidents, maintenance requirements, etc.
h. Contribute in the development of new spa menus and pricing, and/or changes to existing services.
i. Collaborate with management in business development for continued spa growth.
j. All therapists are responsible for executing full tear down at the end of the day, returning the Spa to it’s original state and delivering linens to housekeeping for processing.
k. Check-in with Sansara reception before and after all scheduled therapy days for
communication updates, including but not limited to; sign-up information,
cancelled/missed treatments, delivery of daily manifests, schedule changes, etc.
li. Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times when on Sansara property
(on and off shift), and maintain an excellent level of customer service.
