I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and grew up speaking English, German and Afrikaans. Already at a very young age I knew that I wanted to work in the Hotel Management and Tourism Industry and so already from the age of 14, I schooled at a specialised business school, Pro Arte Alphen Park, where I focussed on Hospitality Studies and Tourism. In December 2006, I chose to move to Germany to pursue my passion and I entered a 3-year dual programmed apprenticeship in Hotel Management. Following my qualification, I remained in this Industry for 5 more years, working as a Service specialist, a Chef de Rang (Head Waiter), Hotel Receptionist and Cash Manager. In June 2014 I changed focus and worked for a European Company called Celebrity Management GmbH who was specialised in worldwide Celebrity Management branding for Teleshopping (HSE, QVC) and online shopping. Our sister company was CMG Logistics GmbH which was the Import-Export company. I managed all the logistics.  I developed new fashion collections each season (shoes, handbags, clothes and accessories) for different customers all around the world. This gave me the opportunity to learn how to run a business at a very young age, and I was employed in the field of Project Management, Logistics Management, Fashion design Management and as a Personal Assistant. In this role I was lucky enough to visit, work and experience the cultures of the following countries: Italy, France, Switzerland, Austria, Holland, Luxemburg, Turkey, United Kingdom, Russia, China and the United States. After studying and gaining much work experience in Germany over the past 10 years, I decided to move back to Africa, which is my beloved home where I help my uncle open a very successful restaurant called “Marc’s Eatery. I took full responsibility for the image branding of Marc’s Eatery, creating the website, linking it to Google, TripAdvisor, Facebook and Instagram and other online portals. Once we were up and running, I worked in the capacity of a Restaurant Manager. I trained 8 staff members (with 1 understudy) working with Front of house and with F&B staff. I have honoured my commitment, to help set up the restaurant and to see the project through until it was running smoothly with well-trained staff and so my journey continues to look for new exciting challenges. I have a deep understanding of every aspect of the Tourism and Hotel Management industry, and would like to share my knowledge, skills and experience with those who would love to learn, not only for their personal growth and mine, but also for that of the tourist industry. Due to Corona I have been stuck in Europe and not able to get back home to Africa and so I have decided to move somewhere new and see what opportunities arise other than in Germany.
