Surf Instructor Full Time Part Time

Are you an experienced surf instructor motivated to join us in giving the best surf lessons at Praia Da Arrifana, Monte Clérigo and Amoureira? We, Arrifana Surf School, provide high quality surf lessons since 2007 to international surfers from ultimate beginners to pro surfers. Our stable but demanding client base is still growing thanks to our team on the beach, Beach hut, Laundry Surf shop, Surf Camp and the office. Our know-how comes from our own passion for surfing and our love for Portugal. It’s our goal to keep on providing safe, top-service and fun surf experiences in one of the most beautiful surf locations in the world.

Duration/Scope:

April-October with possibility of work in low-season and perspective of being set for 2023 high season.
Surf lessons are held every day (including weekends) according to the tides and conditions.
Surf lessons start at Praia da Arrifana during high season, and at the Surf Camp during low season
“Lesson” includes pickups and taking care of (un-)loading the van, washing the and organizing the material.

Requirements:

• +2 year experience in giving high quality surf lessons to beginners and intermediates
• valid surf instructor certificate of FPS or ISA
• Payment upon Invoicing / Recibos Verdes (opening of activity in Portugal is necessary)
• Driving license
• Available on Whatsapp
• English speaking (Portuguese and German are a plus)
• Basic computer skills to check online planning and send documentation is a plus
• Punctual, reliable, responsible, hardworking, leadership skills
• Patient, creative communicator (teaching skills) and physically fit and resilient
• Positive, happy, flexible and open personality
• Love for surfing and respect to the ocean
• Understanding and respecting covid19-related requirements and behaviours

What we offer:

• full-time: competitive monthly remuneration for expected 6 lessons per week of 3hrs (or 4-5hrs with transport, maintenance, organisation)
• or as a jumper: number of lessons per week to be discussed
• Extra lessons are paid on top
• Payment upon Invoicing / Recibos Verdes
• Use of the surf car/van for pickups (provided)
• Opportunity to take on an important role with stable working conditions
