Surf instructor needed – Cascais, Portugal Full Time

We, Karma Surf School, are looking for surf instructors helping our school grow and become best known. The school is linked to the Karma Surf Retreat, which provides a stable but demanding client base and is based in Cascais area near Praia do Guincho and at the Algarve (Budens). Our goal is to provide high quality surfing lessons where safety, quality of service and fun are top priorities. Currently we are looking for instructors at Cascais area.

Duration/Scope:

• July-October/November with possibility of work in off-season and perspective of being set for 2021 season.
• Surf lessons are held from monday to friday from 10 to 14 a.m. (2h at the beach, 2h transport).
• Extra lessons or guiding (paid extra) can be given at any other time and at weekends.
• “Lesson” can include taking care of (un-)loading the van, washing the and organizing the material

Requirements:

• surf instructor certificate of FPS or ISA
• driving license and own car
• experienced in giving high quality surf lessons to beginners
• english speaking (portuguese and german are a plus)
• basic computer skills (excel, word, outlook), internet & social media savvy is a plus
• Punctual, reliable, responsible, hardworking, leadership skills
• Patient, creative communicator (teaching skills) and physically fit and resilient
• Positive, happy, flexible and open personality
• Love for surfing and respect to the ocean
• Understanding and respecting covid19-related requirements and behaviours

Conditions:

• competitive monthly remuneration for expected 6 lessons per week (mon-fri) á 2hrs (or 4hrs with transport)
• Extra lessons/ surf guiding (earlybird, afternoon, sunset session – weekdays or weeekend) are paid on top.
• use of own car is compensated
• Payment upon Invoicing / Recibos Verdes
• Airport transfers on demand (paid extra)
• Use of the surf car/van (provided) – own car is a plus.
• Opportunity to take on an important role and help create and grow the Karma Surf School project.
