FreshSurf is a family-friendly surf school, located in the north of Fuerteventura at El Cotillo. Away from crowded beaches and big hotels, El Cotillo is almost a secret spot, where surfing still is what it should be: pure joy. Beautiful natural beaches, crystal clear water, a temperate climate all year round and first-class surf conditions are all to be found here. Guests can choose from FreshSurf’s range of options to create a tailor-made, individual surf holiday. Accommodation options for our guests include our surf house, surf camp and a variety of apartments. We offer a choice of surf- or kite courses as well as horse-riding, yoga, massage and diving.

To work as an instructor at FreshSurf you should hold a surf instructors diploma from the FCS or FES, a valid “First Aid” certificate and a lifeguarding certificate (completed in open water). The basic requirement is a mastery of the theory, techniques and practice of how to teach surfing effectively. Athletic ability and good surfing skills are required, together with knowledge of the equipment being used in the surf industry. Love and passion for surfing, together with a strong desire and ability to convey this feeling to clients, are a must for this job.

Requirements:

• Age 25+
• Previous experience as a surf instructor or surf instructor assistant
• FCS or FES diploma ( ISA licenses not accepted)
• “First aid” certificate
• SLSA beach Lifeguard
• Driver’s licence
• Good surfing skills
• Willing to accept responsibility, reliable, with good time management skills, and experienced in teaching theory and techniques (as applied to surfing).
