Videographer and Photographer – Lagos, Algarve, Portugal Full Time

We’re seeking a Professional Videographer/Photographer to join our team. This is a rare opportunity for those of you wanting to boost your career in the surf industry.
The ideal candidate for this position is talented, creative with a knack for surf-related visual art and stoked on surfing. You’ll provide high-quality surf photography and videography services to our students and marketing team. Your role will include helping our surf coaching team with surf video coaching, capturing and editing clips of our students while surfing/surf skating plus taking videos and pictures of our guests during their stay at our surf lodge. In addition, you will produce and realize high level videos for our online presence. You’ll be working close to our marketing department which means you need an understanding of how a surf business operates in order to enhance the company in the online marketplace.

This role would suit someone looking for a medium to long-term career opportunity in the Algarve.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Professional skills in photo and video
• Expert knowledge in Adobe Premiere, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom (or similar)
• Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in photography/videography desirable – Basic social media and marketing knowledge
• Full driver’s license for driving in Europe

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EQUIPMENT:

• Work experience in producing videos and photography
• Experience in the surf industry
• Experience in marketing or social media desirable
• Surfer
• Own photo and video equipment with a minimum of two lenses for short-distance and long- distance action (600 mm or longer)
• Water housing
• Drone is a plus
• Laptop to manage photography and video files
• Highly motivated, stress tolerance, team player and able to take constructive criticism
• Proficient in spoken and written English

DATE OF EMPLOYMENT

The position is open from the beginning of March until the end of November.
