Surf instructor Full Time Temporary

SURF INSTRUCTOR WANTED IN FUERTEVENTURA

For seasons and/or long term.

WE OFFER :
5 days of work per week (30 hours), with contract (we can discuss the work load )
A work in a small surf school, offering a structured surf course, with the real surf technique!
We provide a surf class with a methodology* of teaching and form only one group a day.

ABOUT US

We are a surfer family willing to offer a good quality class to the client.

Sophie from Switzerland (french speaker) is the manager and Alex, from Germany is the Head Coach.

We launched the academy in 2012 and picked Aloha as a name as we identify with the Aloha spirit, from the beautiful Hawaiian Islands that we love to visit.

Then the name Academy has been chosen to show the professionalism of our service. Sophie has great skills of management and customer care.

The instructor Alex has studied sport science and provides a surf class with a methodology of teaching.

Our customers are regular visitors who became friends throw the years.

They are from all over Europe !

YOUR PROFILE

• you speak well English (other languages are a +)
• you have good skills of pedagogy
• you have carver skate experience
• you have a valid instructor licence (including lifeguard) and work experience in the field
• you have a driving licence
• you can handle simple administration tasks
• you feel comfortable working by yourself
• you are keen on following our specific teaching methods*
• you are European or have a working permit for Spain

YOUR MAIN TASKS

• loading the transporter with the material (surfboards, leashes, lycras, wetsuits)
• picking up the customers
• follow up on some admin duties with the customers (sign the day sheet for the discharge + get payment)
• giving the carver skate session & the surf course* (incl. theory)
• driving back the customers
• coming to the office to rinse the wetsuits, hang the ones dried, cleaning the car, communicating any information the management should know
• substituting the head instructor when he is on holidays
• Basic car /surf material maintenance (cleaning, fulling gas, checking general conditions,..)
