Last minute volunteer for general support including veggie garden Volunteer

We are a yoga-veggie-surf guesthouse in Palhais / Ericeira offering 7-night-all-inclusive packages. Due to a drop out, we now are looking for a spontaneous extra pair of hands, to continue our season. We will finish on the 2nd November, if you can stay until the end, would be great, if not, we have a minimum of 2 month policy.

Duties Include:

• Garden:  Look after the veggie garden, water in the morning or afternoon, take out weeds, collect veggies (this task will occupy approximately 90 minutes/ per day.)
• Admin: Organize arrival (send out pre-arrival email; place information into a form), max. 30 min/day
• General: Sweep around the houses, after windy or rainy days
• General: Place and remove the pool loungers and hammocks in the morning and afternoon
• General: Keep the filtered water deposits full in the massage room
• DogLovers: Going for a walk with our beautiful Labrador doggy Chocolate (twice a week – minimum 1h walk)
• Early Bird: Getting the bread in the morning from the supermarket in the little village – by bicycle it takes 10min cycling, leaving at 08:00 am to be back at 08:30
• Reception: Saturdays assist with guest check-outs and guest check-ins
• General: Saturdays clean and tidy the Yoga Shala, Massage Room & Equipment
• General: In the evening take note (foto) of the activity board

Generally supporting with these duties making the place run smoothly.

We have a professional cleaner as well as a manager, it is to support if one of them needs an extra hand.

* small maintenance jobs & little extra jobs can happen and will be organized individually

We do expect a commitment of 4 hours per day / 6 days per week / one day off.

Some days will be with more working hours, this is balanced out with the other days where the working hours are much less – total is 24h week

Valued Experience and Passions:

• Experience / Interested in Veggie Gardening
• Passionate about Dogs and Walking – the walk with Chocolate is a must, to keep our doggy happy 😊
• Fluent in English and good Guest Relations
• Knowledge in Portuguese, French or Spanish is a great plus

In exchange we offer:

• Accommodation (private) in a wooden cabin OR in a small camper van on our land (basic),  in the attic of the pink house, bathroom is shared with the other staff member as well with a few guests
• All the meals included (only vegetarian / vegan) and only what is available for the guests as well – no extra cooking or serving privately from the storage / fridge or cooking in the kitchen.
• Using all of the facilities (garden, pool, living room, dining room, well-equipped gym) when timing and space allows joining in the morning yoga sessions, eating with us or with the guests during meal times. (please note: surfing lessons, surfing gear is not included).

*please note the surf school is outsourced so there is no opportunity to have free surf lessons or surf gear
